Describe & Build lays out an email from a short description. The draft opens in the email designer, where you can change any part of it. It's on every plan. The Free plan includes 20 designs a month.
Making one
- Go to Designs and click Describe & Build.
- In the box, describe the email in your own words, in up to 2,000 characters.
- Write the words too starts switched on, so the text is written for you. Switch it off to get placeholder text in each part, ready for your own words.
- Click Build it. It takes about 15 seconds, then the designer opens with your draft.
A description that names each part of the email gets a closer draft. Wrenfield Pottery might write: “An email for our autumn seconds sale. A big photo of stacked mugs at the top, a short note about why seconds cost less, some products, and a button to the shop.”
What goes into it
The draft is built from the same blocks you use yourself, so you can change every part of it. If you've filled in Your brand in Setup, the draft uses your business name and description, and your brand colours. It also follows the voice you described there and, on a paid plan, any design likes and dislikes you've noted under Fine tuning on the Cruise page.
Each picture in the draft is filled with a stock photo that suits its place in the layout, whether Write the words too is on or off. Describe & Build doesn't create pictures. To use your own photos, select a picture and click Replace.
Buttons link to your website address, under Website URL in Setup → Business address, or to a product's page when the button names one of your products. If you haven't added a website address, give each button a link yourself.
What it won't make up
Describe & Build keeps to the facts in your description. It never adds reviews, star ratings or customer quotes, so add a real one yourself if you have one. Prices, discount codes, dates and delivery promises only appear when your description gives them, for example “20% off with the code SECONDS, until Sunday”.
After it's built
The new design is saved under Your designs on the Designs page, with a short name you can change. Edit it like any other design, then use Send a preview to check it in your own inbox.
You can also start from the Calendar: open an idea and click Describe & design. The idea's title and notes fill in the description for you.
