Switching platforms

Switching is easier than you think

Bring your audience with you. From Mailchimp, Klaviyo or Brevo, connect your account and your list comes straight across. From anywhere else, export a file and import it. You don’t need any technical skills.

How it works

Three steps to switching

1

Export the people who are subscribed

Download a file of your subscribed people from your current platform, so your list starts clean. Moving from Mailchimp, Klaviyo or Brevo? You can skip this step and migrate straight from your account instead.

2

Import to SplashSend

In SplashSend, go to People and click Import. Upload a CSV, TSV or Excel file and match your columns to names, email addresses and the details you keep. If someone is already in your account, their subscription stays as it was.

3

Pick up where you left off

Set up your sender details, recreate your templates in our email designer, and send your first campaign.

How to export from your current platform

Step-by-step instructions for the most popular email marketing platforms.

M

Mailchimp

  1. 1In Mailchimp, click Audience in the left menu and select your audience.
  2. 2Click Export audience, then click Export CSV to confirm.
  3. 3Mailchimp emails you when the export is ready. Download the file.
  4. 4If the download is a ZIP, open it and find the subscribed CSV inside.
  5. 5Import that CSV at People → Import in SplashSend.
Tip:Your export may arrive as a ZIP with separate files for subscribed, unsubscribed and cleaned addresses. Import only the subscribed one.
K

Klaviyo

  1. 1In Klaviyo, go to Lists & Segments and click Create List/Segment → Segment.
  2. 2Set the condition to can receive email marketing. This keeps only the people who opted in.
  3. 3Click Create Segment, then open it once it has finished building.
  4. 4Click the Manage Segment dropdown and select Export Segment to CSV.
  5. 5Import the downloaded CSV at People → Import in SplashSend.
Tip:Don’t export your whole list. Klaviyo’s exports include unsubscribed and suppressed profiles, so export a ‘can receive email marketing’ segment instead.
C

Constant Contact

  1. 1In Constant Contact, go to the Contacts section.
  2. 2Filter them by email status and select Active to show only the people who are subscribed.
  3. 3Click Actions → Export selection.
  4. 4Choose the contact details to include and click Export.
  5. 5Once ready, download your file from the import/export activity page, then import it at People → Import in SplashSend.
Tip:Filter by email status before you export, and choose Active so you only bring over people who opted in.
B

Brevo

  1. 1In Brevo, go to CRM → Contacts.
  2. 2Click Load a list or segment and select the list you want to migrate.
  3. 3Choose the contact attributes you want to include in the export.
  4. 4Select your CSV format and click Start export.
  5. 5Click the bell icon (notifications) at the top to download your file when it’s ready, then import it at People → Import in SplashSend.
Tip:Brevo exports everyone in the list you choose, so make sure it holds only subscribed people.
K

Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

  1. 1In Kit, go to Grow → Subscribers.
  2. 2Tick the checkbox at the top of the list, then click Select all # subscribers.
  3. 3Click Bulk Actions → Export.
  4. 4Kit emails you a download link when it’s ready. The link expires after 5 days.
  5. 5Import the downloaded CSV at People → Import in SplashSend.
Tip:Kit exports everyone, whatever their status. To export only the people who are still subscribed, create a segment filtered by status first, then export from within that segment.
