Joining
People go into a drip when its trigger happens for them while the drip is switched on. Something that happened before you switched it on doesn't count.
A form can also start a drip for the person who fills it in. In the form's builder, add the Start a drip action and choose the drip.
Who gets the emails
A drip's emails only go to people who are subscribed. If someone unsubscribes, reports an email as spam, or their address stops accepting email, they leave the drip and get nothing more from it.
Importing a list doesn't start your drips, so an old list won't all get your welcome email at once. To start them, tick Also start drips for these people when you import.
Letting only some people in
Click the trigger card, then click + Add an entry condition and set a rule. Only the people who match it go into the drip.
Going through more than once
Click the trigger card and choose an answer under Can they go through it again? On a drip that is already live, the new answer applies once you publish your changes.
- Once only: each person goes through the drip one time.
- Can re-enter: people go through again each time the trigger happens for them, so they may get the same emails more than once.
- After 30 days: people can come back through, but only after the number of days you set. You can change the number.
Someone who is still part-way through the drip is never started again from the top.
Leaving when they reach a goal
A goal takes people out of the drip once they do what it is for. Click Ends when at the top of the canvas and choose one:
- They buy something: any order, from any store.
- They click any link: in an email from this drip or any other.
- They click a particular link: a link you have named in one of your designs. To name a link, select the button in the designer, open its link settings and give it a name.
- They answer a form: any of your forms.
- Something happens in your systems: an event your systems send to SplashSend by name.
SplashSend checks the goal before each step. Someone who reaches it during a wait leaves when the wait ends, without getting the next email.
Checkout, basket and browsing reminders always end when someone buys, whatever goal you choose.
Switching a drip off
Go to Drips and click the switch on the drip's row so it reads Draft. Nobody new goes in while it is off, and people already in it wait where they are until you switch it back on.
