Your sender details are the name and email address people see when your email arrives. Before SplashSend sends anything, you confirm the address is yours by typing in a code that we email to it. Until you do, nothing can be sent.

Set your sender details

  1. Go to Setup → Sender details.
  2. Enter a Sender name. Use the name people know you by, such as Wrenfield Pottery.
  3. Enter a Sender email, such as hello@wrenfieldpottery.co.uk.
  4. Click Send verification code.
Enter the name and address people will see, then send yourself a code.

If you entered these while setting up your account, they're already filled in, and you may only need the code.

Enter the code

We email a 6-character code, made up of letters and numbers, to the address you entered. The subject line is “Verify your sender email - SplashSend”.

  1. Type the code into Verification code. Capitals or lower case both work.
  2. Click Verify.
Type in the code from the email and click Verify.
Type in the code from the email and click Verify.

The section then says Verified and ready to send. Underneath, it says your emails go out from noreply@send.splashsend.com as your sender name, and replies come to your sender email. Once your domain is authenticated, it shows your sender name and address instead.

If the email doesn't arrive:

  • Look in your spam or junk folder.
  • Next to Didn't get it?, click Resend code. You can ask for up to five codes in ten minutes, and three an hour to the same address.
  • Check that the address is typed correctly. If it isn't, correct it and click Send verification code again.

A code lasts 24 hours. After that, ask for a new one.

How your emails arrive

Until you authenticate your domain, your emails come from noreply@send.splashsend.com. People see your sender name, and when they reply, the reply goes to your sender email.

Once your domain is authenticated, emails come straight from your own address. After you verify your sender email, Next: authenticate your domain appears with a Go to Domain button. See Authenticating your domain.

Once the address is verified, the next step is your domain.
Once the address is verified, the next step is your domain.

You can only authenticate a domain you own. If your sender email is at Gmail, Outlook or another free email service, your emails will always go out through SplashSend's sending address. An address at your own domain, such as the one your website uses, is the better choice.

Changing it later

Go to Setup → Sender details and click Change. If you only change the name, click Save and it's saved straight away. If you change the address, click Save and verify new address: we send a code to the new address, and until you enter it nothing can be sent unless your domain is already authenticated.

If the new address is at a different domain, your domain authentication starts again for the new domain.

If your sender isn't verified

  • A campaign won't send or be scheduled. The message says your sender email isn't verified yet, with a link to Setup → Sender details.
  • A drip can't be switched on. Emails from a drip that's already on wait, and go out once the address is verified.
  • Cruise can't send its emails.
