What is attribution?
Attribution tells you which emails are driving revenue. When someone receives your email and then buys something from your Shopify store, we link that sale back to the email.
How it works
- You send an email to a subscriber
- That subscriber places an order in Shopify
- If the order happened within your attribution window (default: 5 days after the email was sent), the revenue is counted as email-attributed
We use a “last-touch” model — if multiple emails were sent before the order, the most recent one gets credit.
Adjusting the attribution window
Go to Setup → Integrations and scroll to the Attribution window setting. You can set it anywhere from 1 to 30 days. When you change it, all existing orders are automatically recalculated.
Where to see attribution
- Calendar — Stat cards show total attributed revenue for the period
- People — Each person’s profile shows their attributed revenue
- Campaigns — Each campaign shows how much revenue it generated
