Fill in details adds columns to the People sheet that are worked out from what people do, so you don't have to type them in. Open a group or list in People and click Fill in details at the top right. You can also go to Setup → Fill in details and click Go to Fill in details.
Columns worked out from activity and orders
Under Worked out from activity and orders there are three sets of columns.
- Activity, from what people do and the emails you've sent: Engagement score, Engagement level, Last engaged, Best send time, Lifecycle stage and Emails this week.
- Commerce, from Shopify orders: Total spent, Orders, Average order value, Last order, Days since order, Product types bought, Collections bought, Brands bought and Has ordered.
- Collected, from your forms: Last rating and Answers given.
Click Add column on any of them. The column is filled in for everyone in the group or list you have open, up to 10,000 people, and appears in the sheet. Remove takes it off the sheet again. Total spent and Average order value show two decimal places, with your shop's currency in the column heading, such as Total spent (£).
Things to know about these columns
- Only people in the group or list you had open get a value. To fill in other people, open their group or list and add the column there.
- The values are worked out when you add the column. To bring them up to date, click Remove and then Add column again.
- A person's own page always shows these figures as they are today, under Kept up to date automatically.
- You can't edit these columns by hand, and imports leave them alone.
- You can't add these columns to the groups under We never email these.
Guesses for new people
Under As people arrive are three optional guesses.
- Work or personal email fills an Email type detail, telling a company address apart from one like Gmail.
- Company from email fills a Company detail from the end of a work email address.
- Fill in first name fills a missing first name from their full name or email address.
Switch a guess on, then under Fill in when choose how sure it must be, from Fairly sure up to Only when very sure. From then on it runs for people who join through your forms or the API. For the people you already have, click the button underneath that offers to fill them in. Click + Add as a column on Work or personal email or Company from email to show its column in the sheet. Fill in first name has no column of its own: the name it fills in shows in the Person column, and it isn't marked as a guess.
- A guess never replaces something you've entered.
- In the sheet, a guessed value shows how sure it is. On a person's page you can mark it Looks right or Not right.
- Use guesses in emails is off to start with. Switch it on to let a guessed Email type or Company fill a personal touch in an email when there's no confirmed value. Fill in first name works differently. It writes the guess into the person's first name, so a first-name pill uses it whether this switch is on or off. Leave Fill in first name off if you don't want guessed names in your emails.
