A team lets other people sign in to your SplashSend account with their own login. Everyone on the team works in the same account, with the same people, campaigns, designs and settings. Your plan covers the whole team.

Start a team and invite someone

  1. Go to Setup → Team.
  2. If you're working on your own, click Start a team. You become the team's owner, and the Invite a teammate window opens. If you already have a team, click Invite.
  3. Enter their Email address.
  4. Under Role, choose Member or Admin. Only the owner can invite someone as an admin.
  5. Click Send invite.

They get an email with a See the invite button. The invite lasts 7 days, and it shows under Invites until it's accepted.

What each role can do

  • Owner is the person whose account it is. Only the owner can make someone an admin or remove an admin, and only the owner can close the account the team works in.
  • Admin can do everything a member can, and can also send, schedule and approve emails, switch drips and Cruise on or off, change the settings in Setup, connect apps, and invite people, withdraw invites and remove members.
  • Member can write and design emails, build drips and forms, and work with people and lists. A member can send a test to themselves, but can't send or schedule an email, approve or skip a Cruise email, switch a drip or Cruise on or off, change your sender details, business address, subscription topics or connected apps, or delete or export people.

When a member opens something only an admin or the owner can do, SplashSend says so in its place. Setup → Team lists what each role can do under your team.

Plans and billing belong to the owner. Change the plan while you're signed in as the owner.

Joining a team

  1. Click See the invite in the invite email.
  2. If you're not signed in, click Sign in, or Create account if you're new to SplashSend. Use the email address the invite was sent to.
  3. Click Join team.
  • You can be on one team at a time. To join a different one, leave your current team first.
  • If you already had your own SplashSend account, joining a team takes you into the team's account. Your own account isn't deleted, and you're back in it if you leave the team. Before you join, the invite says what's in your own account and what keeps running there, such as Cruise or a drip. You can't join while your own account pays for a plan, is closing, or has a team of its own.
  • If you're new, joining takes you straight into the team's account, which is already set up.

Changing roles and removing people

  • The owner can change someone's role by choosing Member or Admin beside their name. When an admin becomes a member, the API keys they made for the account stop working. If they made any, you're told how many before you confirm.
  • To remove someone, click the bin beside their name, then Remove. They lose access straight away. You can invite them again later.
  • To withdraw an invite, click the cross beside it under Invites.
  • An invite that has expired is marked Expired under Invites, and you can invite the same address again.

When someone leaves or is removed from the team, the API keys they made for the account are revoked and the invites they sent that nobody has answered are withdrawn. See API keys and what they can do.

Leaving a team

Admins and members can leave at any time. Go to Setup → Team, click Leave, then Leave team. The owner can't leave their own team.
