Plenty of people miss an email the first time. A resend gives the same email a second chance with the people who didn't open it, usually with a new subject line.
Resending a campaign
- Click Send in the menu on the left and open the sent campaign. At the top right, Resend to non-openers shows how many people got the email but haven't opened it.
- Click it. The window that opens holds the original subject line, ready to change.
- Type a new subject, or click Fresh subject for three suggestions written for people who skipped the first one. Click a suggestion to use it.
- Click the send button, which names how many people it will go to.
The resend goes out straight away as a new campaign, named after the original with “Resend to non-openers” added. It uses the same design and email category. You're taken to it so you can watch it send.
Who gets it
Everyone the first email reached who hasn't opened it. Anyone who has since unsubscribed, bounced, been put on a never-email list or reached their how-often limit is skipped.
Things to know
- Each campaign can be resent once. After that, the button becomes a link to the resend.
- Leave a day or two first, so people have had time to open the original.
- Opens are counted when the pictures in an email load. People who use Apple Mail usually count as having opened, so most of them won't be in the resend. People whose email app blocks pictures can count as not opening even though they read it, so they may get it twice.
- The resend keeps the original's preview text. If the original had none, the inbox shows the line saved in the design.
- On the Free plan, every email in the resend counts towards your monthly sends.
