Cruise writes and sends a regular email for you. You choose when it sends and who it goes to. Ahead of each send day, Cruise writes the email from what you've given it and lays it out in one of SplashSend's designs, in your brand colours. The email then appears on your Calendar. It goes out at your send time, or waits for your approval if you choose Ask me first.

What Cruise writes from

  • Your business details, from How you sound on the Cruise page: your business name, your description of the business, your website and the way you talk to customers.
  • Your products, with their pictures, prices and links, if your Shopify store is connected or your products come in through the API.
  • Photographs you've switched on for Cruise in Media. Their tags tell Cruise what each one shows.
  • News you've given it: your replies to check-in emails, and ideas on your Calendar marked Available to Cruise.
  • Data sets you've switched on with Let Cruise use this.

Cruise only writes what these back up. Every line is checked against your details before the email is saved, and a line that claims something you haven't told it is taken out. That means Cruise won't make up a sale, a discount code, a review or a story about your business. If you want it to mention something, tell it first. See Telling Cruise what's new.

What each email is about

Each email is about one thing. Depending on what you've given Cruise, it might be about:

  • one product, described in detail
  • two products that go together, or a few picks from your range
  • a product you've added recently
  • a product with a reduced price in your shop, such as one with a compare-at price in Shopify
  • news from a check-in reply, or a date on your Calendar
  • your photographs of your work

Cruise prefers products it hasn't featured lately, so a product from a recent email usually waits while others have a turn. A product named in a subject line you type, or in your news, comes first. The next email usually uses a different design and different photographs.

Where to see it

Cruise emails appear on your Calendar on their send days, labelled Cruise. Click one to read it before it goes out. After it has gone out, the same window shows how it did, and the Cruise dashboard in Reports compares Cruise's emails with the ones you write yourself.
