Some apps are made by other businesses, such as a booking system or a reviews tool. AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT connect the same way. You start on the app's own site, and SplashSend asks you before anything is connected.

Allowing an app

When you connect an app on its own site, it sends you to SplashSend. Sign in if you're asked to. The allow screen then shows what the app would like to do.

  • By says who made the app. Checked by SplashSend means we've tried it and checked that it asks only for what it uses.
  • It will connect to names your account.
  • It will be able to lists what you're allowing, in full sentences.
  • It won't be able to lists what it can't do.

Choose Allow to connect it, or Cancel to leave it unconnected. Either way you go back to the app's site. Only the account owner and admins can allow an app.

An app we haven't checked yet

An app's maker can share a link to try the app before we've checked it. Its allow screen has an amber note saying SplashSend hasn't checked it. Only allow it if you know who made it and you were expecting it.

Without that link, an app we haven't checked can't be installed at all.

What no app can do

  • Email anyone who unsubscribed, or subscribe them again.
  • See your billing, your team, or anything you didn't allow.

Apps that send campaigns

An app sends an email only if it asks to send campaigns and you allow it. It sends one of your designs to a group, a list or everyone subscribed, through the same checks as when you press Send. The same design can't go to the same people twice in one day. In Campaigns, a campaign an app sent says which app sent it, such as From Zapier.

Apps you've allowed

Click Apps in the menu, then Your apps at the top right. Each app you've allowed has its own card. It says who allowed it and when, when it was last used, what it can do, and how many people and events it added in the last 30 days.

The people and events an app sends in can start drips, and its events show in Reports, under From your apps.

Apps we've checked also sit on the shelves in Apps, beside SplashSend's own, with their maker's name. Their Install button opens the app's own site, where you connect it.

Removing an app

On the app's card, click Remove app, then Remove. It stops working straight away. The people and events it sent in stay on your list.

Your account with the app's maker isn't affected. To close it, do that on their site.

An AI assistant you connected this way has a card in Your apps too, and Remove app stops it in the same way. See Connecting an AI assistant.
