SplashSend can connect to an AI assistant, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Cursor. You can then ask it about your account in your own words, for example “How many of my people can I email?” or “Draft a campaign called Autumn kiln opening”.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT
- Click Apps in the menu and open AI assistant.
- Under Connect your AI assistant, choose Claude or ChatGPT and copy the address.
- In Claude, add it as a custom connector under Settings, then Connectors. In ChatGPT, add it in its connector settings.
- Sign in to SplashSend when you're asked, check what the assistant will be able to do, and choose Allow.
There's no key to copy. You need to be the account owner or an admin to allow it.
Connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor
- On the same page, create an API key for the assistant, with only the access you want it to have. See API keys and what they can do.
- Under Connect your AI assistant, choose your app: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or Another app.
- Follow the steps shown, and put your API key where it says YOUR_API_KEY.
The server address is https://splashsend.com/api/mcp, and the key goes in an Authorization: Bearer header.
What the assistant can do
It can only do what you allowed: what you agreed to on the allow screen, or what its API key can do.
- With People read access, it can list your people, look someone up by email address, list your groups with how many people are in each, and give a summary of your list.
- With Events read access, it can list recent events. It sees whose they are only if it has People read access too.
- With People write access, it can add a person or update a person's name.
- With Events write access, it can record an event for a person, which can start a drip.
- With Campaigns write access, it can create a draft campaign, which you then design and send from Send.
It can't send a campaign or delete anyone, and it only ever sees the account it's connected to. Adding someone or recording an event can start a drip that emails them: a person it adds starts your welcome drips unless you tell it not to. If it adds someone who unsubscribed earlier, they stay unsubscribed. They can sign up again themselves, or you can resubscribe them in SplashSend.
Good to know
- Some of what the assistant reads, such as names and event details, was typed by your customers. Check before you let it act on something it found there.
- An assistant can make 100 requests a minute.
- An assistant you allowed has a card in Your apps, on the Apps page. Remove app there stops it straight away. See Apps made by other people.
- To stop an assistant that uses a key, revoke its key. Give each assistant its own key, so you can revoke one without affecting the others.
