Click anyone's name in People to open their page. You can also get there from the list of recipients on a sent campaign.
At the top
Click their name or email address to change it. The name has separate boxes for first and last name. An email address can't be one that another person already has.
Underneath are five tiles.
- Engagement: their level, such as Engaged or Gone quiet, and a score out of 100. See What the engagement levels mean.
- Subscription: Subscribed, Unsubscribed or Emails stopped, with the reason underneath, such as Address bounced or Stopped by you. It reads Not emailed, with the list's name, when they're on a list you've set to never be emailed.
- Frequency: how often they've asked to hear from you on your preferences page.
- Last seen: when they last opened, clicked or ordered.
- Joined: the date they joined and how.
Overview
- The Subscription panel has an Unsubscribe button, or Resubscribe if they've opted out. Only resubscribe someone who has clearly asked to hear from you again.
- Subscriptions shows which topics they've chosen, if you use subscription topics.
- Engagement over time appears once they've had more than one email. It has a dot for each recent email, coloured by whether they clicked, opened or did neither.
- Groups lists the groups they're in. Notes is a place to jot anything down: click it to write.
- Details holds everything else you keep. Change a value in place, or click Add detail for a new one. If something was filled in by a guess, you're asked whether it Looks right. Shopify Tags come from your store and can only be changed there.
Activity
The Activity tab lists the emails they've been sent, newest first, each marked Campaign, Drip or Cruise with its opens and clicks. Click an email to open that campaign or drip, or its day on the Calendar. Click the small arrow at the end of a row to see each open and click. Show more loads older emails.
Above the emails, History shows when they joined, subscribed or unsubscribed, had their emails stopped or had a detail changed. If they've bought from you, switch to Orders to see each order and whether an email led to it.
Insights
The Insights tab shows how many emails they've had and how often they open and click. Once they've had five emails, it compares them with your average reader. It also shows how often you email them and, for customers, what they've spent and when their next order might be due.
The Actions menu
- Add to list puts them in one of your lists.
- Export profile (GDPR) downloads a file of everything you hold about them, for when someone asks for their data.
- Stop all emails stops every email to them, whatever their subscription says. Allow emails again, in the same place, undoes it, unless they marked one of your emails as spam.
- Merge duplicate folds another record for the same person into this one. See Finding and merging duplicates.
- Delete person removes them and their history for good.
On a team, only an admin or the account owner sees Export profile (GDPR), Merge duplicate and Delete person. See Working with your team.
Deleting someone also deletes the record that they unsubscribed or bounced. If they turn up in a file you import later, they come back as subscribed. To stop emailing someone, unsubscribe them instead.
