Closing your account deletes it and everything in it, including your people, designs, campaigns, drips and reports. You have 30 days to change your mind before anything is deleted.

If you only want to stop paying, cancel your plan instead. Your account then stays on the free plan with everything still in it. See Upgrading, changing or cancelling your plan.

Before you close

  • If you want to keep your list, export it from People first.
  • If you pay by card, closing stops your plan renewing, so it ends on the date it's paid up to. If you've booked a change to your plan, it's kept, and comes back if you restore your account.
  • If your plan is on your Shopify bill, pick the free plan on Shopify's plan page or uninstall SplashSend from your Shopify admin, so the charge stops. Your account isn't deleted until you have.
  • If you have a team, closing the account removes everyone's access to it.

Close your account

  1. Go to Setup → Close account.
  2. Click Close account.
  3. Type the email address you sign in with, exactly as it's shown, and click Close my account.
Type your sign-in email to confirm. You have 30 days to change your mind.

What happens next

  • Sending stops straight away. Nothing goes out from your campaigns, drips or Cruise, and your drips and Cruise are switched off. A campaign sending at each person's best time stops too.
  • Scheduled campaigns are cancelled.
  • Your forms stop taking answers. Anyone who fills one in is told it isn't taking answers right now.
  • After 30 days your account and everything in it is deleted for good. We can't get it back after that.

Until then, Setup → Close account shows the date your account will be deleted.

Restoring your account

If you closed your account yourself, sign in before the deletion date, go to Setup → Close account and click Restore my account. Signing in on its own doesn't cancel a closure you asked for.

Click Restore my account any time before the date shown.
Click Restore my account any time before the date shown.
  • Sending starts again, unless it had been paused for another reason before you closed. Your drips and Cruise stay off until you switch them back on, and then the people in your drips carry on from where they were.
  • Your forms take answers again.
  • Campaigns that were cancelled when you closed the account stay cancelled. Schedule them again if you still want them to go.
  • If you pay by card and closing stopped your plan renewing, it renews again as it did before, with any change you'd booked. If you had cancelled it yourself, it still ends on its date.

If you're on someone else's team

The account a team works in belongs to its owner. If you're an admin or a member and want to stop using it, use Leave in Setup → Team. Only the owner can close it. To close your own login as well, leave the team first, then go to Setup → Close account.

Accounts nobody uses

We don't keep accounts, or the details of the people on them, for longer than they're needed. If nobody has signed in, no emails have gone out and nobody new has joined your list for a year, we email you to ask whether the account is still needed. For an account with nobody on its list, this happens after 90 days.

Signing in within 30 days of that email keeps everything as it is. If nothing happens, the account is scheduled to close and sending stops. We email you again with the date it will close. Signing in before that date cancels the closure and turns sending back on.

Accounts on a paid plan, or with a payment that's overdue, are never closed this way, and nor are the logins of people on someone else's team.
