This guide is for accounts that pay by card. If you installed SplashSend from the Shopify App Store, your plan is on your Shopify bill instead. See Paying through Shopify.

Upgrading from Free

  1. Go to Setup → Plan & billing and click Upgrade. You can also click Upgrade in the banner that appears when you're close to a limit.
  2. On the Upgrade page, find the plan that fits the size of your list and click its button, for example Choose Stream.
  3. Pay on the secure Stripe page that opens. If you have a promotion code, enter it there.

If you were invited to the beta with a discount, it's applied for you at checkout. Switching to another plan or cancelling ends it. SplashSend asks before you switch, and says so beside Cancel subscription in Setup → Plan & billing.

Every paid plan has the same features. Choose the one that fits your list.

You come back to the Upgrade page while your new plan is set up, which takes a moment. Once it says Your plan is now and the plan's name, your new people limit applies, your sends are unlimited and you can switch on Cruise.

Switching to another paid plan

On the Upgrade page, click the button on the plan you want, for example Switch to River. This opens your Stripe billing portal, where you make the change.

Your card and invoices

Go to Setup → Plan & billing and click Open billing portal under Payment & invoices. In the portal you can update your card, change the email address your receipts go to, and download past invoices.

Plan & billing shows your plan, when it renews and your billing portal.

If a payment fails

We email you with the subject “Action needed: your payment didn't go through”, and Plan & billing asks you to update your payment method. Open the billing portal and update your card as soon as you can. If the subscription ends because the payment can't be taken, your account moves to the free plan, as described below.

Cancelling

  1. Go to Setup → Plan & billing.
  2. Under Cancel subscription, click Cancel subscription.
  3. Confirm on the Stripe page that opens.

You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and Plan & billing shows the date it ends. If you change your mind before then, open the billing portal and resume your plan.

Cancelling your plan doesn't close your account. To delete your account and everything in it, see Closing or restoring your account.

When a paid plan ends

When a paid plan ends, because you cancelled or because a payment couldn't be taken, your account moves to the free plan.

  • Your drips keep running, and their emails count towards the free plan's 500 sends a month. If nobody signs in for 30 days, your drips are switched off until you switch them back on.
  • Cruise is switched off, because it needs a paid plan.
  • Your people, designs, campaigns and reports stay as they are. Nothing is deleted.
  • If you authenticated your domain, it stays authenticated.
  • If you have more than 100 people, they all stay on your list and can still be emailed, but only within the free plan's 500 sends a month, so a campaign can't go to more people than you have sends left. New people can't be added by hand, by import, through your forms or through the API until you're back under 100 or you upgrade again.

We also email you to say the plan has ended and that your list is still here.

Complimentary plans

If we've given you a plan for free, for example while you help us test SplashSend, Plan & billing shows Complimentary and there's nothing to pay. Buying a plan on the Upgrade page is separate from it and is charged, and you then get whichever plan holds more people.
