Your plan sets how many people you can have on your list. The free plan also limits how many emails you can send each month. Paid plans have no monthly sending limit, and every paid plan has the same features. The only difference between them is the number of people. If an account regularly sends more than 30 emails a month for each person on its list, our Terms say we'll get in touch first, and we may slow or pause its sending until we agree a plan that suits it.
The plans
- Free: up to 100 people and 500 emails a month. You don't need a card. Cruise and the other AI features come with the paid plans. If nobody signs in to the account for 30 days, your drips are switched off and we email you to say so. Switch them back on from the Drips page.
- Ripple: up to 1,000 people, $15 a month.
- Stream: up to 5,000 people, $35 a month.
- River: up to 10,000 people, $59 a month.
- Lake: up to 25,000 people, $149 a month.
- Lagoon: up to 50,000 people, $299 a month.
- Sea: up to 100,000 people, $549 a month.
- Ocean: up to 200,000 people, $1,099 a month.
Every plan, Free included, can send from your own domain. None of them add SplashSend branding to your emails, and there's no limit on how many campaigns you send in a day. If you pay by card and have more than 200,000 people, click Contact us at the bottom of the Upgrade page.
Seeing where you stand
On the free plan, a line at the bottom of the groups and lists panel in People reads something like 86 of 100 people on the Free plan. Your campaigns page shows your sends this month in the same way.
The Upgrade page shows bars for People and Sends this month. Open it from Setup → Plan & billing.
Once you've used 80% of a limit, a notice at the bottom of the screen tells you how much you've used. It turns red when you reach the limit. Click the cross to hide it for a day.
What counts as a person
Everyone on your list counts, whether they're subscribed or not. People who have unsubscribed still count, and so do customers who came in from your Shopify store.
To make room, delete the people you no longer need. Open someone in People, click Actions and choose Delete person. You need to be the owner or an admin. Unsubscribing someone doesn't free a place. If People shows possible duplicates, merging them frees places too.
When you reach your people limit
Everyone already on your list keeps getting your emails. Adding new people stops working in most places until you upgrade or make room:
- Adding someone by hand is refused.
- An import adds as many new people as there's room for and skips the rest.
- Your sign-up forms stop accepting new people, and the API can't add anyone.
- New customers from a connected Shopify store aren't added either. After a sync, the Shopify card on Shopify's page in Apps says how many weren't added. Click Sync now there once you've upgraded or made room.
When you reach the monthly sending limit
This only applies to the free plan. Your allowance starts again on the first day of each month.
- A campaign won't send if it would go to more people than you have sends left. The message tells you how many you have left, so you can send to a smaller group or upgrade.
- Drip emails wait and are tried again every six hours, so they go out after you upgrade or when the new month starts.
Each email to each person counts as one send, whether it comes from a campaign or a drip. Test emails don't count, whether you send them with Send a preview in the designer or Send a test first on a campaign.
Making the free plan go further
- Send to a group or a list when only some people need the email.
- Count a drip's emails before you switch it on. A drip with five emails that 200 people go through uses 1,000 sends.
Upgrading
Go to Setup → Plan & billing and click Upgrade, or click Upgrade in the banner. Your new limits apply as soon as your payment goes through. See Upgrading, changing or cancelling your plan.
