A form goes in an email as a link. Each person gets a link of their own, so when they answer, the answer comes back with their name on it and they don't have to type their email address.

Start an email from a form

  1. Open the form in Collect and go to its Display tab.
  2. Under In an email, click Start an email with this form.
  3. A new email opens in the designer with a button that opens the form, under the form's own heading.
  4. Change it like any design, then click Use this design to send it as a campaign, or pick it for a drip email.

Add a form to any email

In the designer, select a button or a picture, click its link pill, and pick the form under One of your forms. To link some words instead, select them, click the link button in the text toolbar and pick the form the same way.

Where the link takes them

In the form's Display tab, Where the link takes them has two choices.

  • A page we host: the form on its own page, in the form's design. There's nothing to set up.
  • This form on my own website: people land on a page of your site where the form is, and their answer still comes back with their name. Type the page's address. The form has to be on that page (see Putting a form on your website), or the link opens a page with no form on it.

When you pick a form in the designer's link box, the line under the list says where that form opens.

A review card for each thing they bought

The Ask for reviews block, in Ready-made under Your shop, shows a card for each product a person bought, with the product's name and a Review this button, and its picture if it's a Shopify product. Click Choose a form on the block and pick a review form. Each card has its own link, so each review is filed against the product it's about.

The cards are filled in from the order that started a drip, so this block belongs in a drip email after an order. Anywhere else, it becomes a single Leave a review button. See Asking for reviews after an order.

Checking it

In a preview email, a form button opens the form without a personal link, so an answer sent from a preview arrives without a name. On the real send, each person's link is their own. If someone answers again through their link, about the same product, the new answer replaces the first and goes back to private.
