Here's what SplashSend brings in from a connected Shopify store, and what it does with it.
Customers
The first sync brings in the customers who have agreed to email marketing in Shopify, as subscribed people. After that, customers come across as they're added or changed in Shopify. A customer who hasn't agreed to email marketing arrives unsubscribed and is never emailed. If your plan's people limit is full, new customers aren't added, and the Shopify card on Shopify's page in Apps says how many were left out.
- If someone unsubscribes in Shopify, they're unsubscribed in SplashSend too. If someone unsubscribes from one of your emails, Shopify isn't told, and a later update from Shopify won't subscribe them again unless they agree to marketing in Shopify after unsubscribing, for example by ticking the box at checkout.
- A new customer who agrees to marketing in Shopify can start your welcome drips. The customers brought in by the first sync never do.
Along with each person's name, SplashSend keeps the details Address, Phone, Language and Shopify Tags where Shopify has them. You can build groups from any of these, such as people within 20 miles of your studio.
Orders
The first sync brings in the last 60 days of orders, which is as far back as Shopify lets an app see. New orders, and changes such as an order being shipped or refunded, come across as they happen. Each order is matched to a person by their Shopify customer record or the email address on the order, and shows on their page in People.
Only new orders start drips. An order that's more than three days old when SplashSend first sees it never starts one, so the first sync only starts drips for orders placed in the three days before you connected.
Orders also show which emails led to a sale. See How email attribution works.
Products and collections
Your products, with their prices, pictures and links, and your collections come across and stay up to date. With them you can:
- add product cards to a design from Your shop in the designer's Ready-made blocks
- let Cruise show your products
- start a drip with Back in stock or A price drops
- use the Products, Collections, Stock levels, Sales and Best sellers data sets in Data
Unfinished checkouts
Shopify doesn't send news of an unfinished checkout, so SplashSend checks your store for them every 15 minutes. A checkout started by one of your subscribed people can start a drip with the Checkout abandoned trigger. See Abandoned checkout and basket reminders.
Where to check it
- The Shopify card, on Shopify's page in Apps, shows when each part last synced, with Sync now to bring everything in again.
- Below the card, What's come across has a card for each kind: products, collections and orders. The Attributed column shows which orders were credited to an email, and Unmatched means an order isn't linked to anyone on your list.
