Who pays through Shopify

If you created your SplashSend account by installing the app from the Shopify App Store, Shopify bills your plan and it appears on your Shopify invoice. You never enter card details in SplashSend.

If you already had a SplashSend account when you installed the app, nothing changes. You keep paying by card and change your plan in SplashSend. See Upgrading, changing or cancelling your plan.

The plans and their limits are the same either way. See Understanding your plan limits.

Choosing or changing your plan

  1. Go to Setup → Plan & billing. Under Current plan it says your plan is billed through Shopify.
  2. Click Choose a plan in Shopify, or Change plan in Shopify if you're already on a paid plan.
  3. Your Shopify admin opens on SplashSend's plan page. Pick a plan and approve the charge.

Shopify sends you back to SplashSend's Upgrade page, which says Your plan is set with Shopify. The new plan usually applies within a few minutes. If the page says your plan is still being confirmed, refresh it after a minute.

Back from Shopify, the Upgrade page confirms your plan.

The Upgrade page has the same button, so you can start from there too.

When you first install

At the plan step of setting up your account, the paid card says Choose a plan in Shopify. Clicking it finishes setting up your account and takes you to Shopify's plan page. You can also click Stay on free and choose a plan later.

Invoices and your card

Your SplashSend charge appears on your Shopify invoice. To change the card, go to your Shopify admin, then Settings, then Billing.

Stopping the charge

Pick the free plan on Shopify's plan page, or uninstall SplashSend from your Shopify admin.

When you uninstall, your store is disconnected and the charge stops. Your account moves to the free plan, which switches Cruise off. Your drips keep running, and their emails count towards the free plan's 500 sends a month. Your people and designs stay in SplashSend. 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify asks SplashSend to delete your store's data, so its orders, products, collections and unfinished checkouts are deleted, along with the revenue figures that came from them. If you install SplashSend again within those 48 hours, nothing is deleted. Uninstalling doesn't close your SplashSend account. To do that, see Closing or restoring your account.

While your plan is billed through Shopify, you can't disconnect your store from inside SplashSend. Uninstall the app from your Shopify admin instead, under Settings, then Apps.

If you pay by card and see Shopify's plan page

If your account pays by card and you choose a paid plan on Shopify's page, SplashSend doesn't apply it, and the Upgrade page tells you so. Pick the free plan on Shopify's page so you aren't charged twice, and change your plan in SplashSend.
