Every form in Collect works the same way, and what it does depends on what you put in it. An Email field signs people up to your list. Questions, such as a star rating or a comment box, collect answers you read in Collect. A form with both does both, and the list of forms shows which each one does, such as Subscribes people or Subscribes + answers.
Making one
- Go to Collect and click New form.
- Pick a template, or click Start from scratch. The templates are Newsletter signup, Waitlist, Product review, Recommendation score, Feedback box, Event RSVP and Contact us.
- The form opens on Build. Add blocks from the left, and click any part of the form to change it.
- Click the form's name at the top to rename it. Your changes save as you go.
If you leave a new form without changing anything, it isn't kept.
The blocks
Click a block on the left to add it to the end of the form, or drag it to where you want it. Drag blocks on the form to change their order.
Under Questions:
- Text for a short answer, and Long text for a paragraph
- Email, which signs people up to your list
- Multiple choice to pick one option, and Tick all that apply to pick several
- Star rating, from 1 to 5 stars, and Score 0–10, for how likely someone is to recommend you
- Date
Under Layout, Text adds a line of words and Divider a dividing line. Consent tick-box adds a box people must tick before they can send the form.
Changing a question
Click a question on the form to open its settings. Change the Question, the Options for a choice (with Add option), the Hint inside the box (optional), and whether it's Required to submit.
Saves to decides where an answer goes. Just an answer keeps it as an answer you read in the Answers tab. First name, Last name or one of your details saves it onto the person instead, such as a “Favourite glaze” detail. To ask for a name, add a Text question and set it to save to First name.
Click the form's heading or button to change their words. In the box under After they submit, they'll see, below the form, write the message people see once they've sent it.
What happens next
The When someone submits panel on the right lists what the form does, such as signing people up, emailing you, or starting a drip. See What happens when someone submits.
The Design tab sets how the form looks, and Display puts it on your website or gives you its link. See Styling a form and Putting a form on your website.
Managing forms
The Forms tab lists every form with its views, its answers (sign-ups, for a form that only subscribes people) and how many email designs use it. A form that isn't used anywhere yet says Not in an email or on your site yet. The ⋯ menu on a form has Rename and Duplicate. It also has Delete, which stops the form working wherever it's been added, including its link.
